Parent Coordinator

Welcome to P.S. 65!

As the P.S. 65 Parent Coordinator, I am part of the administrative team that works for the school principal.  As a liaison, I work closely with our teachers, our guidance counselor, our school staff, the school leadership team and the PTA.  My job is to help guide you through the Department of Education and the policies and procedures of P.S. 65.  I hope our parent handbook, will give you a point of reference for many activities and events planned for the school year as well as the policies and procedures.

I look forward to inviting you to the many academic and non-academic parent workshops throughout the year.  Workshops in the past have been offered in the mornings, Mondays, Tuesdays after 2:30 p.m.  We would like to get more parents/guardians to attend.  For students in testing grades, an in-depth look at State Testing will be offered later during the year.  I am also eagerly waiting to work with our 5th grade class.  There is so much to look forward from middle school admissions to graduation.

I have an e-mail notification network set-up and urge all of you to sign up.  The form is at the front office or you can call me and I can send it with your child.  Please print clearly, so I can add you to the network.  You will then be on your way to receiving the monthly P.S. 65 newsletter via e-mail along with grade appropriate flyers and school-wide notifications.  Please fill out a separate sheet for each of your children.

If you should have any questions or concerns, I can be reached at 718.981.3054 ext. 1120 or by e-mail at nsantaliz@schools.nyc.gov

My office is located on the first floor, if you should need anything.  Please feel free to introduce yourself at any time.

Looking forward to a great start of the new school year!

Norma Santaliz
