The P.S. 65 PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) is a volunteer parent group that helps P.S. 65 parents stay involved and support our school.

Operating under the guidance of Chancellor's Regulation A-660, Parent Associations and schools meet monthly to develop ways to foster parent involvement, keep parents informed, and address their concerns about the school.

Our fundraisers and special community events help fund all enrichment programs at P.S. 65.

The P.S. 65 PTA has a long history of active involvement in our school and in the community.  Our parents work hard to support the school's efforts through fundraising and community events, big and small.

Our community-building events provide a great way to interact with families at P.S. 65 in a fun, connected, and positive way.

At P.S. 65, getting involved is not only the right thing to do; it is also a lot of fun and rewarding!

What is the PTA?
​We have an elected Executive Board for the PTA.  The President runs all PTA meetings and oversees the Executive Board, with support from our principal.  Elections for the Executive Board take place each June and elected board members take their place in September.

All NYC public schools' PTAs are governed by by-laws (see link below) that we have written and filed with the Department of Education.

How can I find out what PTA fundraisers and events are going on at school?

  • The P.S. 65 PTA communicates with families via OPEROO and their social media account on Instagram
  • Come to PTA meetings.  We hold monthly meetings, typically in the evenings.  We encourage you to attend as many meetings as possible.  At these meetings, you'll hear about upcoming events, current expenses, and budget concerns, and have an opportunity to meet other parents.  Meetings are always announced via OPEROO, DOJO and posted on the school's website and on our social media page on Instagram.  Come and get involved.  We need you and want your voice, support and involvement!

*Meetings for March, April, and June will take place during the third week of the month at 6:30pm so as not to conflict with parent/teacher conferences, Spring Break, and Chancellor's Conference.  All other meetings will be held on the second Thursday of the m month at 6:30pm.


All PTA meetings will be held virtual unless otherwise noted.
