Integrated Setting – Classroom teacher and ENL teacher plan together – ELLs are provided the appropriate support to develop English language skills through content area instruction.
Stand-Alone Setting - Classroom teacher and ENL teacher plan together – ENL/ESL teacher works with ELLs in a separate location to develop English language skills so that students can succeed in content area courses.
NYSESLAT New York State English as Second Language Achievement Test
All students who are English Language Learners (ELLs) must take the NYSESLAT. The NYSESLAT is designed to measure the English language proficiency of students who have been identified as ELLs and to continued ELLs status.
